As part of this programme of work, Portsmouth Creates, is working in partnership with Portsmouth City Council to support the commissioning of a semi-permanent public art installation, on the road surface in the pedestrianised area of the Guildhall Walk.

The ambition is that this project, alongside other creative interventions intended to enhance the local area as meanwhile interventions, will form part of a wider place making ethos to support the positive development of the area. This culture-led regeneration approach aims to support the vision of the Safer Streets Project, increasing civic pride and strengthening a sense of place through creativity.

Key information:

  • We welcome applications from people at all stages of their creative practice
  • The overall fee for the project is £10,500, including research/development, design, materials and installation of artwork
  • The closing date for applications is Friday 3 May 2024
  • 3 applicants will be shortlisted, with the final candidate being selected in partnership with PCC and local stakeholders
  • The successful artist/s will be informed on or before Friday 17th May 2024
