Curating Spaces allows artists to exhibit their work in highly visible areas.  This month’s featured creative is Donna Holmes, Artist, Sculptor, and Founder of The Art Academy Portsmouth.

Donna designs and handcrafts statuesque sculptures using her love of nature, folklore, fantasy, and of course the fae. Using all her skills of drawing, painting, sewing, felting, and also working with clays. She is an artist with a difference.

She says, “As a child, I spent most of my time dreaming about stories of anthropomorphic characters as a way to escape a difficult home life. I had a wonderful imagination and actually believed these characters were real. I lost myself in my favourite stories of Rupert the Bear, Wind in the Willows, Alice in Wonderland, The Fox and the Hound, to name a few.”

Donna exhibits her work at festivals and craft fayres, and you can also find her work on Instagram or Facebook.
